National Night Out Returns To Chester: See What's Planned
The event will include police and emergency services displays and demonstrations, games and activities and more.
CHESTER, NJ — In just a few weeks, the Chester Borough Recreation Department will host a night of family fun at the annual National Night Out event.
The community event will be held on Aug. 2 at the Chester Municipal Field Gazebo, located at 155 Main St. in Chester, in collaboration with the Chester Police Department and other first responders.
The event starts at 6 p.m. and will conclude at 8 p.m.

National Night Out is an event that aims to improve relationships between neighbors and law enforcement while also restoring a true sense of community. It is intended to provide an opportunity for police and neighbors to work together in a positive setting.
The police awareness event is sponsored by the Chester Police Department, the Chester Volunteer Fire Company, the Chester First Aid Squad and the Borough of Chester.

"We welcome you and your family to join us for a night of fun as we continue to build a community partnership for a safer, better place to live," the Chester Borough Recreation Department said.
Among the planned festivities are free refreshments, free activities, and free live demonstrations by the borough's local emergency services. In addition, the recreation department will host a free family-friendly movie under the stars at dusk.
Residents are encouraged to bring a cozy blanket and snacks to enjoy the show with their friends.
The outdoor movie will begin at 8 p.m. and run until 10 p.m., officials said.
Attendance at the community event will be completely free.
