One Arrested In Mendham Borough Jewelry Theft
The value of the stolen jewelry amounts to $53,000, police said.
MENDHAM BOROUGH, NJ — One man was arrested and charged this week with third-degree Theft after jewelry was stolen from a home near Cherry Lane in Mendham Borough on October 30, 2019, police said Wednesday in a press release.
The stolen jewelry consisted of a diamond engagement ring, a diamond bracelet and a diamond pendant necklace, valued at a total of $53,000, police said.
An investigation found the suspect, 39-year-old Robert K. Antonucci, was working at the victim's home as a moving contractor at the time of the theft, the release stated. A search later found the man to be in possession of some of the stolen items.

Antonucci was arrested and charged with third-degree Theft, and he currently remains in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a pre-trial detention hearing.
The man's last known address was in Staten Island, New York. Mendham's Chief John Camoia said New York City Police's 122nd Precinct Detective Squad and the Morris County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit aided in the arrest.
