Part Of Route 206 Still Closed In Chester After Storms, Police Say

Police said they expect the road to be open later Thursday afternoon.

CHESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — All traffic is still being detoured around a downed tree and wires on Route 206 in Chester as of Thursday afternoon, police said.

The road is closed in both directions between Rogers Road and Old Chester Road, and southbound traffic is being detoured. Police said a downed tree and wires have been blocking the lanes since Wednesday night.

This closure includes the intersections of Rt. 206 and Fox Chase Road and Rt. 206 and Lamerson Road. Police say to plan an alternate route.

Around 2 p.m., the detour was still in place, but tree crews and the electric company were on scene. Officials said to expect the road to open "later today."
