Pedestrian Hit, Killed By Car Near North Jersey Park

Police said the woman was walking near the park when she was struck by the vehicle.

MOUNT OLIVE, NJ — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car Tuesday while walking near a Morris County park, according to reports citing police.

The incident happened shortly after 4 p.m. near the entrance to Turkey Brook Park, RNJ News reported. A 66-year-old woman was using a crosswalk to cross Flanders Road when she was struck by a Kia traveling southbound.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died, reports said. The driver of the Kia remained at the scene.

A Mount Olive police spokesperson told NJ Advance Media that charges are pending against the driver.
