Plastic Foam Recycling Day Planned Jan. 9 For Mendham Residents
Over the weekend, residents can bring their plastic foam items to Mendham Borough Public Works, which is at 37 Ironia Rd.
MENDHAM, NJ — Residents who need to easily dispose of their old plastic foam packaging will have an opportunity to do so this weekend.
Mendham Borough and Mendham Township Environmental Commissions will offer residents the opportunity to recycle their plastic foam packing materials this Saturday, Jan. 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Residents can bring their foam items to Mendham Borough Public Works, which is at 37 Ironia Rd.

The following items can be recycled during the event:
- Foam sheets
- Foam coolers
- Foam packaging
Residents are asked to remove any tape, labels and any foreign materials prior to recycling the items listed above.

The following items will not be accepted at Saturday's event:
- White foam cups
- Colored foam trays
- Food service trays
- Foam egg cartons
- Peanuts
According to township officials, the recycled items will ultimately be turned over to Foam Pack Industries, a company committed to keeping the environment clean by preventing expanded polystyrene (EPS) waste from entering landfills.
