Ralston Playground Holding Grand Reopening Celebration
The free event will feature music, entertainment, and a mini touch-a-truck event.
MENDHAM, NJ — Five years after a particularly harsh winter shut down Ralston Playground, a grand reopening celebration is set to be held.
The playground will host a Grand Reopening and Donor Recognition event this Sunday, April 28 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A special ribbon cutting ceremony will take place, and there will be food trucks, face painting, stilt walkers, balloon artists, and music. Local first responders will hold a mini touch a truck event.
The playground was shuttered after a harsh winter in 2014 caused damage and safety issues. Much of the equipment needed to be replaced as a result. $98,000 was raised in funds by the community, and another $42,000 in new debt and $40,000 from the town's capital improvement fund were given to help fund the effort.
