Retired Railroad Conductor, Longtime Chester Resident Dies At 84
Michael Bolio had 15 grandkids, six great-grandchildren.

CHESTER, N.J. – Michael Bolio loved the railroad, and loved his family.
The longtime Chester resident died Wednesday, May 18 at the age of 84.
Bolio was born in Newark, New Jersey and lived in Peapack before moving to Chester 50 years ago.

Bolio was a retired railroad conductor for New Jersey Transit, and his whole life revolved around the railroad and sharing his railroad stories.
Bolio was an avid Yankees fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His favorite person, however, was his wife, Ella.

He is survived by Ella, whom he married 63 years ago. He’s also survived by 10 children, 15 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will include a memorial gathering on Monday, May 23 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the William J. Leber Funeral Home on Furnace Road in Chester. A 10:30 a.m. funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 24 at St. Lawrence Church in Chester.
