And the Mendham Township Police Department want residents to be on the alert for the latest scam. According to authorities, residents have been contacted by someone claiming a family member has been arrested and needs bail or has been in an accident and needs for money to be sent to them. "It is a scam," police said, noting that residents should contact authorities immediately if they are targeted. "Do not send cash or wire money."
