School Days in a One-Room Schoolhouse at the Mendham Township Library
Revisit reading, writing, and arithmetic late 19th century style in a one-room schoolhouse experience!

On Tuesday, September 10th, at 7pm, the Mendham Township Library will host a School Days in a One-Room Schoolhouse with historic program presenter, Joan Schaible.
Revisit reading, writing, and arithmetic late 19th century style as the schoolmarm, historic program presenter Joan Schaible, engages “students” in a one-room schoolhouse experience! Pupils will learn about various school buildings, daily classroom routines, textbooks, school supplies, discipline, and expectations for teachers and students. Class begins at the bell, so don’t be tardy! Expect a “homework assignment! “
Joan was born and raised in New Jersey and attended Taylor University, Upland, IN. She started off as middle school teacher in Boonton, teaching social studies and language arts. Joan has also worked for the Morris County Park Commission as a Historical Program Specialist at Fosterfields Living Historical Farm in Morristown and has served as a docent at The Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms, Parsippany. Joan currently spends time giving a variety of presentations for school children and adult groups, as well as at libraries and senior centers.

This program will be held in the Brookside Community Church’s Scialla Hall at 8 East Main Street in Brookside, NJ.
