Shunpike Road Closure Beginning Next Week

A portion of the road will be closed starting Aug. 19 for milling and paving.

MENDHAM, NJ – Shunpike Road from the intersection of Loantaka Way to Southern Boulevard will be closed for five days starting Aug. 19 for construction, according to officials.

Milling and paving will take place until Friday, with work scheduled for 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Officials advise those driving through the area to plan alternate routes. Detours will be in place for northbound, southbound, and westbound traffic.

Residents along the road and Chatham Day School will have special access, with police traffic directors present to assist in navigating through the work zone.
