Sunflower Festival Marks Summer Return To Chester's Alstede Farms

CHESTER, NJ — Get some great golden hour photos, enjoy delicious treats and more with the 2023 return of Alstede Farms Sunset and Sunflowers event.

On Friday, July 14, from 5 p.m. to dusk, the community is invited to celebrate summer at Alstede Farms, located at 1 Alstede Farms Lane, and stroll through their sunflower trail while admiring the evening sky.

On the 600 acres of preserved farmland, attendees will be able to enjoy live music, wine and cider tasting by Tomasello Winery, and other activities.

Food and some tasty snacks will be available for purchase from The Farmhouse District. Treat yourself to homemade ice cream, featuring seasonal flavors such as peach and peach blueberry, while soaking up the rural farm atmosphere at night.

Guests will be able to cut their own sunflowers for an extra $2.00 per stem, payable when they leave the pick-your-own area.

To cut sunflowers, you may bring your own cutting shears. If you don't have shears, you can rent them for a $20.00 refundable deposit at their PYO shed.

Tickets to the event are on sale now on the Alstede Farms website. The cost of admission is $15.99.

Alstede Farms, a first-generation family farm in Morris County, is a pioneer in sustainable agriculture, growing over 250 varieties of fruits and vegetables on 600 acres of preserved farmland.
