Walkout Ceremony Held For Longtime Chester Police Officer
Lieutenant Ronald Totams, a long-time police officer, walked out of police headquarters for the last time on Thursday, July 13.

CHESTER, NJ — The Chester Police Department will bid farewell to one of its longtime officers with a "walkout" ceremony as he leaves police headquarters for the final time.
On Thursday, July 13, Lieutenant Ronald Totams will walk out of police headquarters for the final time in his 23-year career with the Chester Police Department.
Totams became a member of the Chester Township Police in July of 2000 and, according to his supervisors, has been an exemplary officer over the last two decades.

Totams made two career moves in 2012, moving from patrolman to police Corporal in April and then to sergeant a few months later in September.
"As Lt. Totams closes this chapter and opens a new one, we thank him for his service and wish him and his family the very best going forward," Chester Township officials said.
This is the most recent change for the Chester Police Department, which has seen a flurry of retirements, promotions, and the hiring of new patrol officers in recent months.
Twenty-three officers are currently assigned to the Chester Police Department, which protects the residents of Chester Township and Chester Borough.
Chief Ryan McNamee is the department's commanding officer, having been sworn in last October following the retirement of Tom Williver.
