MENDHAM, NJ — West Morris Mendham High School is considered one of the best high schools in New Jersey, according to a new ranking.
A new ranking from U.S. News and World Report has placed West Morris Mendham as the 42nd best public high school in the state, out of 472 schools. The school ranks #906 nationally, out of 17,901 public high schools. It received an overall score of 94.94 out of 100.
U.S. News analyzes college readiness, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, underserved student performance (students who are Black, Hispanic, and from low-income households), college curriculum breadth, and graduation rates when making its school rankings.

West Morris Mendam’s percentile score on NJ Student Learning Assessments came in at 92 percent, which is “well above expectations,” according to the report.
The school overperformed in all three analyzed assessment subjects compared to district and state levels:

The school consists of 1,044 students and 84 full-time teachers, giving it a student-to-teacher ratio of 12:1. The school also has a graduation rate of 98 percent, which is slightly higher than the state average.
West Morris Central High School, the district’s other high school, ranked #106 in the state and #2,117 nationally.
