All The Earth Day Events In Monmouth County
Looking for something to do? We rounded up all the Earth Day park and beach clean-ups and festivals in Monmouth County:
MIDDLETOWN, NJ — April is "Earth month" and there are lots of events planned across Monmouth County.
If you are looking to get out with either children or yourself, here's everything that's planned:
April 13: Clean Ocean Action kicks off the 2024 beach clean-up season this Saturday. They will hold their first beach clean-up from 9 a.m. - 12:30 at Sandy Hook. Meet in parking lot D. No need to pre-register. However, if Sandy Hook is not convenient for you, Clean Ocean Action has more than 80 sites selected for clean-ups this Saturday, from Essex County to Cape May. April 20: Earth Day Open House from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Manasquan Reservoir Environmental Center in Howell (331 Georgia Tavern Road). Come for guided nature walks, live animal presentations and nature crafts. Local nature organizations will be on hand. Admission and parking are free. Hosted by the Monmouth County Parks System.
April 20: Eco-Fest with Surfrider in Long Branch

Earth celebration festival held from 1 - 5 p.m. at The Whitechapel Projects, 15 2nd Avenue in Long Branch. Join the American Littoral Society and Surfrider for a local vendor and craft fair featuring live music, nonprofit tables, guest speakers, kids' crafts and more.
April 20: Point Pleasant Earth Day Celebration Held from noon - 4 p.m. at Riverfront Park in Point Pleasant. Parking and admission are free.
April 21: Beach clean-up and beach combing at Bayshore Waterfront Park, 719 Port Monmouth Road in Middletown. 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Come help clean the coastline of trash and debris while learning about local shellfish and shells.
An additional beach clean-up/beach combing is planned from 1-3 p.m. that same day at Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park, 221 Ocean Avenue in Long Branch.
April 21: "Slade Dale Spruce Up" in Point Pleasant. Stop by from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. for an annual maintenance of Slade Dale Sanctuary in Point Pleasant. Help plant recycled Christmas trees collected over the winter and install coir logs to help stabilize the shoreline. RSVP here.
April 22: Earth Day Shore Planting, again at Bayshore Waterfront Park in Middletown. Held from 5-6:30 p.m. Help the Park System restore the park’s native maritime forest by planting native plants. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis as supplies last.
With the exception of the Slade Dale clean-up, all of the above activities are free and do not require pre-registration. Just show up!
