Fire Wednesday Night At Beacon Hill Condos In Belford
In freezing conditions, Middletown Police and fire knocked down a fire Wednesday night that could have easily spread to more condos:

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — A fire broke out Wednesday evening in the Beacon Place condo complex, located off Hwy. 36 in the Belford section of Middletown. Three people (not first responders) reported smoke inhalation due to fire and were transported to Bayshore Hospital for evaluation.
The fire started at about 9:30 p.m.
Upon dispatch, Chief of the Department Anthony Fulciniti responded and confirmed an exterior fire located on the side of the condominium, extending up the side of structure. Middletown Police arrived and quickly deployed extinguishers to knock down most of the fire.

Belford Engine Fire Company, Independent Fire Company of Belford, and Brevent Park & Leonardo Fire Company responded to suppress the rest of the fire, while confirming no additional fire spread occurred throughout any other condo unit.
22 firefighters responded to assist at the call. The Middletown Township Safety Unit also responded to the scene. 9 responders from Leonardo First Aid and Rescue Squad and Port Monmouth First Aid squad stood by at the scene.

The fire is under investigation by the Middletown Township Fire Marshal’s office under the direction of Edward “Buddy” Skelly.
