‘Friday The 13th’ Prequel Filmed At Mother Teresa School In Atlantic Highlands

ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ — The “Friday the 13th” prequel series is filming all over New Jersey this summer, including at Mother Teresa School in Atlantic Highlands.

Filming took place at the school in late June.

The prequel is called "Crystal Lake" and it's about a young Jason Voorhees.

The original "Friday the 13th" movie was filmed in the 1980s in and around Blairstown, including at a Boy Scout camp called Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco in Hardwick Township. Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco was the setting for the fictional Camp Crystal Lake in the movie.

The prequel returns this summer to Blairstown: The show will film on Main and Bridge streets in Blairstown during the day next Monday, Aug. 11.

Filming is also taking place in Hope Township, Clifton and Hawthorne. Filming is expected to wrap in October, and "Crystal Lake" will stream on Peacock in 2026.
