ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ - Local authorities banded together over the weekend as part of a rescue mission to retrieve a kitten who wasn't stuck in a tree, but rather inside a sewer grate, on Route 36, according to police.

Sergeant Elmer, Patrolman Labella and Patrolman McDonald of the Atlantic Highlands Police Department were assisted by Middletown police’s Patrolman Zubkow and Chief Weber to aid in the Sunday rescue outside of the Atlantic Highlands Starbucks across from Foodtown, police said in a statement on social media.
