Man Accused Of Stalking, Touching Woman At Middletown At Home Store

Police say this happened Nov. 22 at the At Home store on Rt. 35 north in Middletown:

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — This man, from Hazlet, is accused of following a woman around the At Home store in Middletown, exposing himself and touching her inappropriately, said Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago and Middletown Police Chief R. Craig Weber.

Perry J. Mangano, 21, of Hazlet is charged with fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, fourth degree lewdness and fourth-degree stalking.

Police say this happened Nov. 22 at the At Home store on Rt. 35 north in Middletown: The woman said Mangano approached her shortly before 7:30 p.m. that evening. She said he then exposed himself to her, and touched her inappropriately.

A little more than a week later, at approximately 6:30 p.m. Dec. 1, a person matching Mangano’s description was back inside the store. Middletown Police were called and arrested him on site without incident.

Mangano remains in custody pending a first appearance tentatively scheduled to take place at 9 a.m. Monday.

“I commend the members of the Middletown Police Department for their swift and diligent work in locating and apprehending the suspect,” Prosecutor Santiago said.
