Man Charged With Burglary of Vehicle at Middletown Firehouse

Incident occurred on Nov. 17, according to criminal complaint

A Keansburg man faces a burglary charge for allegedly entering a vehicle located at a firehouse in Middletown.

John J. Craparo, 33, was charged with burglary by entering a personal vehicle located at the Community Fire Company on Appleton Avenue in Leonardo on Nov. 17, according to a criminal complaint.

The firehouse was closed to the public at the time of the alleged incident, and Craparo “was not licensed or privileged to enter” the area, reads the complaint signed by Patrolman Kent Thornton.

Bail for Craparo was set at $5,000, no 10 percent option, according to the complaint. Craparo remains in custody at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold, according to department of corrections records.
