Man Indicted on Charges Involving Sexual Assault of a Child

A Monmouth County grand jury indicted a Lenoardo man on two charges including sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Christopher Jenkinson, 24, Washington Avenue, was indicted on Friday, May 25 after he allegedly committed an act of sexual contact upon a three-year-old child on two different occasions.

According to the indictment, the alleged sexual assault occured on Dec. 1, 2011 and Feb. 3, 2012. In addition to the sexual assault charge, Jenkinson was also indicted on a second-degree crime of endangering the welfare of a child. 

The indictment did not explain what the nature of the sexual contact was, or the name or sex of the child.

Indictments do not constitute convictions. They are determinations that the prosecutor has enough evidence to pursue charges that are addressed in a court of law.
