Middletown Boy Submits Winning Name For Monmouth Co. Snowplow

"If we have snow this year, make sure to keep an eye out on the roads for 'Born to Plow!'" said County Commissioner Tom Arnone.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — The winner of the second-annual Monmouth County Snowplow Naming Contest is Jackson Felegy, who attends Middletown Village Elementary School.

Jackson submitted the winning name with another Monmouth County student, and also coincidentally named Jackson: Both boys (no relation to each other) submitted “Born to Plow” as the name for a county snowplow.

(Both were clearly inspired by Bruce Springsteen, who lives in Monmouth, as well.)

Jackson Mattioli of Laura Donovan Elementary School in Freehold Township also submitted that name. Thanks to the boys, two snowplows will be named "Born to Plow."

That winning name was chosen from more than 230 Monmouth County elementary school students who submitted names in the 2024 contest. County Commissioner Director Tom Arnone surprised both boys with visits at their schools to tell them they won, and give them letters of commendation.
