Middletown High School Graduates By The Numbers

Students have also been nationally recognized for academics, athletics and performing arts.

Middletown Township Superintendent William George was not shy to brag about the success of the graduating class of 2013 at their respective ceremonies Wednesday.

"You have reached the high expectations set forth in our school district," he said while addressing the student body.

According to George, 421 seniors will attend four year college and universities in the fall and will represent Middletown at 145 colleges and universities well-ranked by the U.S. World Report.

Eighty-one students got a 700 or better on an individual section of the SAT, while twelve earned a perfect 800 on one or more sections. Additionally, George said, 91 were inducted into the National Honor Society and five were recognized as National Merit Scholars.

Students have also been nationally recognized for athletic and performing arts achievements, he said.

College and universities seem to have recognized their achievements, he noted, since the class of 2013 earned about $8.3 million in scholarship for college.

"You are a positive reflection on your community, on your school and on your families," he told the graduating seniors.
