Middletown Skate Park Opening Postponed To Tuesday

The Brevent Avenue skate park will now have its grand opening at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 12:

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — The Grand opening of Middletown's new skate park at Kunkel Park, on Brevent Avenue in Leonardo (the Brevent Avenue skate park) will be Tuesday, March 12.

It was supposed to be at 3 p.m. Saturday.

There will still be giveaways and free skateboard lessons.

Join us for the grand opening of the Kunkel Park Skate Park! Ceremony includes ribbon cutting, open skate, raffles and helmet safety presentation thanks to Hackensack Meridian Health's Pediatric Injury Prevention staff members. Free walk-up skateboarding lessons to the first 12 kids ages 5-14; introductory level lesson begins at 4:45pm and intermediate level at 5:30pm. Bring your own equipment. We're raffling off Vans gift card, one free week of skateboarding camp, and more!

Middletown Township will also provide free walk-up skateboarding lessons to the first 12 kids ages 5 -14. Bring your own equipment. They're raffling off Vans gift card, one free week of skateboarding camp and more.

All skate participants 17 years and younger must wear a helmet.
The Kunkel/Brevent Avenue skate park will be open daily from 8:00 a.m. until dusk unless lighting is activated, in which case the skate park may be open no later than 10:00 p.m.

It can be used for skateboards, in-line skates and non-motorized scooters. Everyone using the skate park must wear helmets.
