MTPD arrest Two Men on Cocaine and Marijuana Possession Charges

On Monday, June 18 the Middletown Police Detective Bureau and Quality of Life Unit and the New Jersey State Police Crime Suppression Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Danemar Drive in Middletown, which resulted in the arrest of two subjects for various narcotics violations.

Police charged Sean Lynch, 26, of Danemar Drive and Kyle Smith, 18, of Statesir Place in Middletown, with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of over 50 grams of marijuana, possession of over 50 grams of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy.

Lynch was also charged with the additional offenses of possession of heroin and possession of a prohibited weapon, specifically a butterfly knife. Lynch was held on $27,500 bail set by Judge James Berube. Smith was released pending a court date.

MTPD say the execution of the search warrant was a result of a month long cooperative investigation conducted by the Middletown Police and the New Jersey State Police Crime Suppression Unit. Detectives John Soltysik and Anthony Dellatacoma of the Middletown Police Quality of Life Unit and Sergeant Daniel Bergin and Detective John Cipot of the New Jersey State Police Crime Suppression Unit conducted the investigation. The officers were assisted by Patrolman Christopher Tuberion and his K-9 partner Mako of the Union Beach Police Department.
