Obituary: Dolores G. Healy, 85, Former School Nurse

Dolores G. Healy, 85, of Middletown, died on Nov. 7, 2013, surrounded by her family at her home.
She was born in Teaneck and lived in Middletown for 53 years.

Dolores received two BS degrees—one from Manhattanville College, Purchase, NY, and a second from Jersey City State College (now New Jersey City University).
Dolores originally worked as a Registered Nurse for French Hospital in New York City. After raising her family she returned to her nursing profession as a school nurse. She worked in that capacity at St. Mary's School, New Monmouth, from 1975 to 1984. She later worked as a school nurse for the Hazlet, Red Bank and Perth Amboy school systems.

Dolores enjoyed cake decorating, arts and crafts, photography and traveling. She was a faithful, practicing Catholic. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Parish, New Monmouth.
Surviving are her loving husband of 55 years, Michael; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Gilda Healy of Middletown; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Brian Fitzsimmons of Middletown and Sharyn and Christian Abbes Jr. of Corvallis, Oregon; two sisters, Lucile Baasch of Oyster Bay Cove, NY, and Bernice Barnes of Wilmington, NC; Also surviving are the ultimate joys of her life, her five grandchildren, Daniel and Trudy Abbes, Caroline, Elise and Lauren Fitzsimmons.
Dolores was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Graf.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road.
A Funeral Liturgy will be offered Monday, Nov. 11 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Chapel, 26 Leonardville Rd. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Keyport.
