Pedestrian Hit By Train, Killed On NJ Transit Tracks In Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — A man was killed on the train tracks in Middletown Wednesday morning, NJ Transit confirmed.

An adult man was hit by a train in the area of the Normandy Road bridge in Middletown. He was struck at 7:25 a.m. by a train bound for New York Penn station.

He was not in a car and was walking on the tracks when he was struck by the train and killed, said an NJ Transit spokesperson.

Middletown Police confirmed they responded to a report of a person struck by a train, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

As of Thursday morning, NJ Transit still did not release the name of the man, citing an ongoing investigation into how he was killed.
