Port Monmouth Man Accused of Stealing Over 30 Shorelands Cemetery Vases

Police say he allegedly took the brass vases to sell as scrap metal.

Hazlet Police arrested Daniel Price, 26, of Port Monmouth on Friday afternoon after Price allegedly stole between 30 and 50 brass vases from the Shorelands Cemetery in Hazlet.

According to Hazlet Police, Price was charged with multiple counts of theft after allegedly stealing the urns to sell as scrap metal. At least 16 vases were recovered By Hazlet Police so far.

The Asbury Park Press reported cemetery management noticed the vases missing and police arrested Price hours later.

The follow-up investigation is being handled by Officer Chris Acevedo.
