Resident Indicted After Allegedly Receiving $6K in Benefits
An area woman was indicted on a theft by deception charge.

A Monmouth County grand jury indicted a Port Monmouth woman on one count of theft by deception.
Kimberly Kowall, 43, of Creek Road, was indicted on a third degree crime of theft of deception after allegedly obtaining benefits she was not entitled to receive from the Monmouth County Division of Social Services.
According to the indictment, between December 2009 and September 2010 Kowall allegedly received $6,141.10 from the County. Kowell allegedly received the money from the County by failing to report the income to the Retirement, Survivors and Disability Insurance.
