Sandy Hook, Island Beach State Park Closed Wednesday Due To Crowds

It remains to be seen if the beaches will again reach full capacity Thursday, as highs are supposed to reach 94 degrees:

SANDY HOOK, NJ — Both Sandy Hook and Island Beach State Park reached capacity due to crowds Wednesday, as a heat wave continued to bear down on New Jersey.

Both popular beaches had to close for a few hours in the middle of the day due to packed beaches and crowd size.

The parking lots at both beaches were full, and park rangers had to turn drivers away.
