Trapped Occupant Rescued In Tinton Falls Turnover Crash

Fire department crews removed the occupant through removing part of the vehicle's roof, officials said.

TINTON FALLS, NJ - A trapped occupant of a vehicle that flipped over a guardrail on the Garden State Parkway in Tinton Falls was successfully rescued this week, fire officials said.

Members of Wayside Fire Company and Tinton Falls Fire Company No. 1 responded to the single-vehicle crash on the Garden State Parkway Thursday morning, which resulted in the vehicle resting on its side over the guardrail, according to the Wayside Fire Department.

Crews stabilized the vehicle utilizing Paratech Struts and a portable winch tie back, fire officials said. Once stabilized, the crews removed the trapped occupant through a partial roof removal.

The patient was then transferred and transported by paramedics to a nearby hospital for further medical care, fire officials said. The condition of the occupant was not immediately available Saturday morning.
