Update: Middletown Man Identified as Sunday Crash Victim

A 43-year-old Middletown man has been identified as the victim in a one-vehicle accident that occurred on Sunday, according to police.

A 43-year-old man from Middletown has been identified as the victim of a crash that occurred on Sunday, according to Middletown Police.

Walter Burke, of the Hillside section of Middletown, was killed when his vehicle left Navesink River Road at approximately 3:30 a.m. and burst into flames after hitting a concrete pillar and a tree, according to Detective Lt. Stephen Dollinger said.

The accident appears to have involved only Burke’s vehicle, and there were no other passengers, Dollinger said.
