UPDATED DATE: Flu Shot Clinic Scheduled In September By Millburn
Despite the recent focus on the COVID and monkeypox vaccines, the flu is still a threat. Millburn is planning clinics.
MILLBURN, NJ — [NOTE: The earlier date has been corrected.] The flu is out there, and while it hasn't been as deadly as COVID, it took approximately 28,000 lives in the U.S. during the 2018-2019 flu season.
Preliminary estimates say that this past flu season, with people wearing masks and practicing COVID precautions, as many as 14,000 people died from the flu.
One weapon against the flu is the annual flu vaccine, which doctors say reduces the risk of serious illness by 40-60 percent.
