2 Millburn High School Seniors Win 2023 National Merit Scholarships

Two of the National Merit Scholarship winners from Millburn have been announced. There may be more.

MILLBURN, NJ — Last year, Millburn had more high school seniors who won prestigious National Merit Scholarships than any other public school district in New Jersey.

They're already on track to repeat this feat.

So far, the district had two winners among the list of winners of 2023 National Merit Corporate Scholarship recipients released by the national non-profit this week.

The scholarships provide money for college and are given to high school seniors each year based on SAT scores, academic performance, and more. (See the requirements and the list of the 2022-23 semifinalists from Millburn here).

A year ago, Millburn had more National Merit Scholarship winners than any other public school district in the state.

So far, the following two students have been announced as having won this year's corporate scholarships:

Eric Wang

  • Probable career field: Healthcare
  • National Merit Novartis Scholarship
  • The Novartis Group companies are leading manufacturers of pharmaceuticals and healthcare products.

Sean Woo

  • Probable career field: Medicine
  • National Merit Novartis Scholarship
  • The Novartis Group companies are leading manufacturers of pharmaceuticals and healthcare products.
