MILLBURN, NJ — Millburn police recently arrested three men after they allegedly stole mail at a local post office, authorities announced Thursday.

The Millburn Police Department received a report about three people stealing mail from the exterior drop box at the Millburn Post Office during the early morning hours on Sept. 24.

The suspects fled the area in a white BMW X4, police said.

A Millburn officer stopped the vehicle near the Short Hills Post Office. A search turned up stolen mail belonging to 62 people, 31 stolen checks and fictitious license plates, authorities said.

Police arrested the three men: Wilfrey Pena-Perex, 22, of the Bronx, NY; Jean Garcia-Ogando, 26, of Newark; and Luis Lopez-Delacruz, 24, of Passaic. They were each charged with theft of movable property, trafficking identity theft and conspiracy.
