MILLBURN, NJ — Five people were arrested and charged with attempted burglary after a police car chase in North Jersey last week, authorities say.

“In the early morning hours of Aug. 15, Millburn police received a report of a burglary that had just occurred in Springfield. The suspects were seen fleeing the scene in a red Hyundai Elantra. The stolen suspect vehicle traveled eastbound on Route 78 and exited into Springfield, where it struck a curb at the intersection of Meisel Avenue and Riverside Drive and became disabled. All five occupants fled the vehicle on foot. [The officer] was able to apprehend one suspect at the scene. The remaining four suspects were taken into custody shortly after, with assistance from the Springfield Police Department.”
