Bless Your Pets: Millburn Area Pet Blessing And Remembrance To Be Held

Essex County residents can bring a pet to church to be blessed, or a photo/keepsake to honor a pet. The event will be held in Millburn.

MILLBURN, NJ — Your furbabies are (or were) part of your family, and two churches in Millburn want to bless and remember them.

St. Stephen's Church in Millburn and Christ Church in Short Hills are hosting a Community Pet Blessing this Sunday, Oct. 2 at 4 p.m. The event will be held rain or shine, but it never hurts to double check before heading over.

People in the area, including nearby towns like Maplewood and Springfield, are welcome, the organizers said.

The event will be held at St. Stephen's, 119 Main St. in Millburn.

The church said, "Join us as we celebrate the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals and the environment, by blessing your pets. ALL pets and their families are welcome!"

If you can’t transport a pet or are grieving the loss of a special pet,you are invited to bring a photo or other token of remembrance.
