Burglary, Attempted Burglary Reported In Millburn: Police

A 70-year-old man wearing a mask entered a Millburn's apartment through an unlocked window, police said.

MILLBURN, NJ — A burglary and an attempted burglary were recently reported in Millburn, police announced Monday.

The Millburn Police Department released the following details about each incident:

January 18 – “Millburn police responded to a Wyoming Village apartment on a report of a burglary that just occurred. The resident reported that an unknown male wearing a surgical mask entered her apartment through an unlocked window. When the suspect was encountered, he fled through the apartment front door. A [Millburn detective] investigated the incident and identified the suspect as, Jerry Johnson, 70, of Maplewood. A warrant for his arrest was issued.”

February 4 – “During the early morning hours, Millburn police responded to a Stewart Road residence on an activated burglary alarm. The investigation revealed that the suspects attempted to force entry into the residence through a window, which activated the alarm. The suspects never gained entry to the residence and fled the scene. This incident remains under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.”
