Crash In Millburn Kills Grandmother, Hospitalizes 2 Family Members: ECPO

Three generations of Pennsylvania residents were involved in a deadly crash in New Jersey. The road was closed for construction at the time.

MILLBURN, NJ — An investigation continues into a fatal crash in Millburn that killed a grandmother from Pennsylvania and hospitalized her daughter and granddaughter earlier this week, authorities said Friday.

According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, a single-vehicle crash involving a 2024 Tesla X took place on the 30-block of Brookside Drive in Millburn on Tuesday.

The occupants of the vehicle included the driver, Hannah Sun, 33, her mother-in-law, Yuning Wang, 58, and Sun’s 3-year-old daughter. All three are Doylston, Pennsylvania residents.

The three family members were taken to Morristown Medical Center. Wang was pronounced dead at 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday.

Brookside Drive was closed for construction in both directions at the time of the accident, according to the Millburn Police Department.

A police investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, authorities said.
