Early 'Exit Polling' From Deerfield Elementary Students Shows Booker Pulling Ahead of Bell 46 to18

Preliminary exit polling conducted by the Millburn Elementary School Corey Booker beating Jeff Bell in the senate race.

Very early exit polling by Mr. Doug Weisberger’s fifth grade class at Deerfield Elementary School in Millburn showed the following results among residents voting on Election morning at Deerfield school:

NJ Senate:
Corey Booker 46
Jeff Bell 18

One of the voters the students polled today was former New Jersey Governor and Short Hills resident Brendan Byrne, pictured here with Deerfield students. The firsthand governor was on hand to share some firsthand knowledge of government and politics.

Students will be collecting data, entering it into an Excel spreadsheet, and graphing and interpreting results. Students will be writing about the political process and the election results as a part of their studies on politics and government.
