5 Students In Millburn Selected To Display Their Art In Essex County

A handful of students in Millburn/Short Hills were selected to display their art in an Essex County justice building.

MILLBURN, NJ — Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo and the Art Educators of New Jersey welcomed 43 students from throughout Essex County for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Justice Building in Newark for the Art Educators of New Jersey student art exhibit on March 30.

Among them were a handful of students from Wyoming Elementary and the South Mountain School in Millburn.

This is the 16th year DiVincenzo has partnered with the Art Educators of New Jersey to highlight student artwork at the Essex County Government Complex.

During the month of March, the first-floor lobby of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Building was transformed into a student art gallery.

“Essex County has some very creative and talented student artists at all age levels from elementary to high school. The original artwork that is included in our exhibit is truly inspiring,” DiVincenzo said. “I am proud to have been a partner with the Art Educators of New Jersey to present this exhibit."

This year’s show featured original works of art created by 40 students who ranged in age from elementary school to high school level.

The students came from 13 different Essex County schools. The students whose drawings and paintings that were featured in the exhibit are as follows:

  • Abington Avenue Elementary School in Newark: Yezenia Cataleena Ceron, Aritza Yupa, Katelyn Vasquez, Zian Peralta, Alexander Huezo and Nathania Williams
  • Delia Bolden Elementary School in Maplewood: Zohra Hamberlin-Guebla, Annalivia Popowsky and Patrick Ceglio
  • Edison School in West Orange: Myles White, Maria Valderrama and Tzippy Hicks
  • Elliott Street Elementary School in Newark: Jasmine Rios, Jheyson Rosario Rodriguez, Angelie Pilacencia, Serenity Martinez, Kelly Bonilla-Yagual and Miguel Bentick
  • East Orange Community Charter School in East Orange: Candace Vil, Arianna Mollineau and Malik Pierre Louis
  • Essex Valley School in West Caldwell: Shaniya Gilliam, Zahryna B. and Brandon T.
  • Forest Street Elementary School in Orange: Genesis Parker, Isabela Hilario Rosario and Oscar Vasquez, Jr.
  • Livingston High School: Ava Bickel, Atlas Dhanoa and Isabela Ubrig
  • Nutley High School: Lauren Yozzo and Linda Zheng
  • Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School in Livingston: Noa Bitansky, Rosie Baherov and Tara Cantor
  • South Mountain School in Millburn: Neomi Riznikov
  • West Orange High School: Adonis White and Angelyn Cancel
  • Wyoming Elementary School in Millburn: Amogh Banagere, Meiri Chin, Ailin Zhou, Brynn Golden and Chase Wu
