Flash Flood Warning Issued For Millburn
The NWS cited Millburn among areas that "will experience flash flooding." More thunderstorms are expected later. See the forecast below.
MILLBURN, NJ — Amid a heat advisory and thunderstorm watch for Essex County, the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning until 4 p.m., saying flooding is imminent in the area. They specifically cited Millburn and Newark among towns.
The NWS said, "Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...Newark, Jersey City, Yonkers, Elizabeth, New Rochelle, Flushing, Bayonne, Mott Haven, Hoboken, Plainfield, Bloomfield, East Tremont, Hackensack, Linden, Orange, Summit, Lyndhurst, Millburn,
Rutherford and Secaucus."
They advised residents to turn around rather than trying to drive or walk through floods. People have died during unexpected floods, including at least 28 in New Jersey last September during storm Ida.
