Former NFL Cheerleader And CIA Staffer From Millburn Dies
Not many women can say they worked for both the NFL and the CIA, but Mary O'Mara of Millburn did. She passed away last week.
MILLBURN, NJ — Not many women can say that they worked for both the CIA and the NFL. Nor could many say they went on to win awards for breeding horses, as well. But Mary Josephine O'Mara could.
O'Mara, who lived in Summit and lived in Millburn, passed away last Thursday in Florida at age 90, according to her obituary.
The obit notes that O'Mara was an original member of the cheerleaders or “Redskinettes” for the Washington Redskins, now known as the Commanders. They're the National Football League’s longest running cheerleading team.
