A hazardous weather outlook was issued for northeast New Jersey and southeast New York on Monday morning, with the National Weather Service (NWS) warning of possible thunderstorms and flash flooding.

Here’s the local forecast for the Millburn area this week, as per the NWS:
Monday: A chance of showers before 11am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 11am and 2pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. Southeast wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Monday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 8pm and 11pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tuesday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. Heat index values as high as 99. West wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
