'Hazardous Weather Outlook' In Millburn: See Local Forecast For The Week

MILLBURN, NJ — The good news? Weather in Millburn is expected to cool down a little bit after a recent heat wave. The bad news? It’s going to be a soggy week, forecasters say.

A hazardous weather outlook was issued for northeast New Jersey and southeast New York on Monday morning, with the National Weather Service (NWS) warning of possible thunderstorms and flash flooding.

Here’s the local forecast for the Millburn area this week, as per the NWS:

Monday: A chance of showers before 11am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 11am and 2pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. Southeast wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Monday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 8pm and 11pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tuesday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. Heat index values as high as 99. West wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Tuesday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 8pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Wednesday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Wednesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Thursday: A chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 81. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Thursday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 8pm and 2am, then a chance of showers after 2am. Cloudy, with a low around 70. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Friday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Friday Night: A chance of thunderstorms before 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
