MILLBURN, NJ — Former Millburn Police Chief W. Paul Tighe, whose artwork is currently on display at the Millburn Library, passed away a week ago.
Coincidentally, his paintings began showing at the Millburn Public Library on the first of March, and will stay on display until the end of the month.
An obituary notes that Tighe began serving as chief in 1969 and held the spot for 24 years. He was also a Navy veteran.

Tighe served for four years aboard an aircraft carrier. He then "joined the Milburn Police Department as a patrolman, following in the footsteps of his grandfather and uncle."
Tighe, who was one of 10 siblings, stayed active in the community even after he retired from the Police Department, his obituary said. He was the business manager of St. Rose of Lima Church for many years.
