Man, 82, Found Dead With Severe Burns On Millburn Sidewalk

MILLBURN, NJ — An 82-year-old man was found dead with severe burns on a sidewalk in Millburn Friday night, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release Saturday.

Shigeru Takeuchi of Union was found on a sidewalk in the 100 block of East Willow Street around 9 p.m. Friday. He was pronounced dead at the scene around a half hour later, officials said.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide and Major Crimes Task Force is investigating Takeuchi's death.

No arrests have been made and Takeuchi's autopsy is pending.
