Millburn Bike Week Gets Rolling Saturday With Slate Of Events
A week of events, programs, and bike repairs starts Saturday. See the full list below.
MILLBURN, NJ — A week of events, programs, and bike repairs starts rolling in Millburn this Saturday. Millburn Bike Week will run from April 17 through 24.
"All residents are invited to a week of fun activities to promote biking and pedestrian safety in our community," says the town.

Millburn Bike Week is a collaboration between the Millburn Township Pedestrian Safety Advisory Board, Millburn Environmental Commission, Millburn PTOC Safety Committee, and Bike&Walk Millburn.

Saturday, April 17
9 a.m.–11 a.m.: Millburn Bike Swap
- Description: Please bring a bike, take a bike, or both in Lot 19 in Downtown Millburn.
- How to participate: Please fill out this form to register to drop off your bike.
Noon–3:30pm: Learn to Ride with Sensational Therapies
- Description: Please join the occupational therapists from Sensational Therapies in Short Hills to learn bike riding without training wheels.
- How to participate: Please fill out this form to sign up for a ½ hour slot.
Sunday, April 18
7am–7pm: Brookside Drive Promenade
- Description: Please enjoy Brookside Drive as it is closed to motorized vehicles.
- How to participate: Bike or walk Brookside Drive off Glen Avenue in Millburn. For all ages.
Various times: Paint the Street
- Description: The Millburn High School Students Against Destructive Decisions Club (SADD) will paint stencils about pedestrian safety at the schools.
- How to participate: The schedule will be posted for times the club will be at each school. Please come to the school to watch the stencil painted.
Monday, April 19
Bike and Walk to School Week
- Description: We want to hear from you. Please walk or bike to school and tell us about it.
- How to participate: Walk or bike to and from school as much as you can during the week. At the end of the week, fill out this form.
Tuesday, April 20
4:30pm–5:30pm: TransOptions Bike Safety Education and Go Outside
- Description: Please join TransOptions, Millburn’s Transportation Management Association, for safety information about biking and walking for students in grades K-8.
- How to Participate: Click here to register. After the event, ride your bike or take a walk.
Wednesday, April 21
4:30pm–5:00pm: Millburn Police Forum
- Description: Please join the Millburn Police Department to learn about biking and pedestrian safety rules and regulations.

Thursday, April 22
7:00pm–8:00pm: Bike Repair with Back Roads Only
- Description: Please join Back Roads Only, Millburn’s mobile bike repair resource, for bike sizing, spring tune up, chain reset, and tire repair.

Friday, April 23
7:00pm–7:30pm: Brain Injury Prevention with Opportunity Project
- Description: Please join Opportunity Project of Millburn for brain injury prevention awareness.
- How to Participate: Click here to register.
Saturday, April 24
2:00pm: Residents Ride Crest Drive
- Description: Please culminate Millburn Bike Week with a ride on Crest Drive in the South Mountain Reservation. For riders of all ages.
How to Participate: Drive South Orange Avenue to Crest Drive. Meet at the Dog Park at 2:00 pm. Bike about 2 miles roundtrip on a flat, protected pathway.
