Millburn Cops Stop Stolen Car Near Mall, Driver Had Stolen Credit Cards: PD

MPD: Officers arrested three people after stopping them near the Mall at Short Hills in a vehicle stolen out of Connecticut.

MILLBURN, NJ — Millburn police recently arrested three people after stopping them near the Mall at Short Hills in a vehicle stolen out of Connecticut, authorities announced Wednesday.

The Millburn Police Department released the following details about the incident, which took place on July 13:

“[A Millburn police officer] conducted a motor vehicle stop on a stolen 2024 Jeep Wagoneer at the traffic light on JFK Parkway South near the [Mall at Short Hills]. The vehicle had been reported stolen out of Connecticut on July 9, 2025. The driver – identified as Lydia Alicia, 36, of New Haven, CT, and two passengers, Kashan Wright, 35, and Jalil Cox, 36 – were taken into custody and charged with receiving stolen property (motor vehicle).”

According to a statement from police, Alicia was found in possession of 26 stolen credit cards, nine forms of identification and an unspecified amount/type of controlled dangerous substances (CDS).

In addition to the receiving stolen property charge, Alicia was also charged with possession of CDS, credit card theft, and trafficking in personal identifying information, police said.
