Millburn Elementary School Students Walk for Wounded Warriors

This week, Deerfield Elementary students walked ten laps for the charity, Wounded Warrior Softball Camp for Kids.

Deerfield Elementary School students set out to walk ten laps for the Wounded Warrior Softball Camp for Kids on Nov. 3. The “Deerfield Walks for the Wounded Warriors Softball Camp for Kids” was an opportunity for local residents to gather as a school community for a day of health, fun and fitness in support of amazing charity that supports veterans and children.

The Wounded Warrior Softball Camp is for children ages 8 to 12-years-old with an amputation or missing limb that are still able to participate in daily softball clinics. Children who come from military families. Children from anywhere in the country can attend any camp nationwide.

“We believe it is a win for the kids, and a win for the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team players who have already served their country, and who continue to serve in this important way,” a representative from the camp said. WWAST will cover the expenses for the child participating as well as a parent. This includes travel, meals, and lodging.
