Millburn To Hold Flag Raising For Pride Month
Millburn's Pride Flag raising will take place Friday and there will be refreshments.
MILLBURN, NJ — Millburn will host a Pride Flag-Raising Ceremony this Friday, June 17 at 4:30 p.m. at Millburn Township Town Hall located at 375 Millburn Ave.
Mayor Maggee Miggins will open the event and introduce Deputy Mayor Dianne Thall-Eglow who will speak about the importance of supporting the local LGBTQIA+ community.
Themed refreshments will be served, thanks to Splurge Bakery. All are invited to attend.

The event is hosted by Explore, the independent 501c3 non-profit organization that serves as the Special Improvement District (SID) for the town. Established by the Township Committee in August 2020, the SID encompasses five distinct commercial areas and serves nearly 500 businesses.
Pride Month traces its roots to and commemorates the 1969 Stonewall Riots, or Stonewall Uprising. On June 28, 1969, police in New York City raided the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in the West Village. The raid sparked six days of protests.
