Millburn Issues Advisories For Snow And Rain

A Winter Weather Advisory was issued in part of Essex County, although snow expectations have decreased. The big story may be rain Monday.

MILLBURN, NJ — Amid reports of a major snowstorm coming to other parts of the country, the NWS has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for western Essex County towns from 6 p.m. Friday through 10 a.m. Saturday.

In Millburn, streets could be slippery Saturday morning, and some wind gusts are expected.

However, the snow expectation has decreased. Forecasters were predicting around a half inch of rain Friday night and up to a half inch more snow Saturday. (Updates are here.)

The big story may be heavy rain expected Monday into Tuesday morning, possibly up to an inch of rainfall.

There is a Winter Weather Advisory in effect for Essex County from 6 p.m. Friday, March 10 until 10 a.m. Saturday, March 11. Forecasters predict rain to begin after 4 p.m. Friday, before turning into a snow mixture with the possibility of 3-5 inches of accumulation. Sunday will be mostly sunny. But more rain could come late that night into Monday.
